Demoriffin'

I just recorded two big riffs (main riff for two separate songs) as demonstration purpose. It was the first time I've tried how these riff ideas sound with distorted guitars - since both of these little monsters have been born in the wilderness jammin' unplugged. And I gotta say ... that listening to the two demos (both about 1 minute long) make me feel really good. These are definitely "Mood:Doom" riffs, there's no question about that. Slow and monstrous. Even a nod beautiful. Doomy? Yes!

Something in the dark

Let me start by saying that not much has been happening with Mood:Doom since the release of "The misery quadrant" in April 2011. Yes, so why I'm writing here then? Just to state that silence means nothing else than ... that something is lurking in the dark corners of space, still invisible to naked eye.

Take a note that I said "not much" has been happening. That is not the same than "nothing" has been happening. I've gathered few riffs'n'melodies that have born under conditions like f.e. thunderstorm raging outdoors, I'm sitting in the dark and jammin' with guitar ... or sitting on a dock by a lake in the wilderness, jammin' with a guitar. These ideas have been saved and will be shaped into new songs at some point. When that happens, it's hard to say currently, but whenever it is - it will be told here.
